Jacquelyn Oduro [CRSP, CHSC]

Jacquelyn brings a vast knowledge base, having worked in the health and Safety Industry for over 15 years. Being an owner/operator of her own business and having grown up in a medium-sized family business in Saskatchewan, she has experienced first-hand the multiple demands on business and the loss that can result from improper safety management. For the past ten years, Jacquelyn has been working alongside Manitoba businesses as a consultant in many sectors, including Motor vehicle, Retail, Property management, Manufacturing and Construction, implementing and improving their safety systems.

Jacquelyn is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional and a Canadian Health and Safety Consultant with a university degree from the University of Manitoba and a diploma in Occupational Safety and Health from Red River College. She also serves as education chair for the Manitoba chapter on the CSSE board (Canadian Society of Safety Engineering). Her desire is for the work and services provided by the team at S2SA to support members in implementing safety systems that will add value to their overall operations and protect their workers.

Evangel Oputa

Evangel is the Marketing Manager at S2SA, a marketing strategist specializing in designing and implementing digital, business, marketing, brand, and growth strategies vital to a business’s success. He is also the Host of “One Thing About Life” Podcast.

He obtained his first degree in Bcom from The University of Mumbai and a postgraduate degree in marketing from The University of Lagos. In addition, he holds several diplomas in digital marketing, social media marketing, e-business and a certificate in Brand Management from the University of Toronto. He is an AWS Certified cloud practitioner, Google certified digital marketing professional. 

He is a member of the Internet marketing association (IMA) and the American Marketing Association (AMA) – Toronto Chapter.

With over nine years of direct experience in the Information Technology, Financial Services, Financial Technology (Fintech) and Marketing & Advertising industries, in various capacities in marketing and brand management, business development, account management, sales and lead generation. He had the opportunity of building partnerships with Governments, Large, Medium, Small-Scale Businesses and retail entities across three continents and has designed and implemented successful marketing and growth strategies for businesses of all sizes.

He is passionate about marketing and technology and uses his knowledge to help individuals and companies adapt, overcome and succeed in the modern world. He often keeps up with the latest trends; you can call him a student teacher because he is always learning new growth marketing strategies and how to grow a business leveraging technology. 

His mission is to effect positive change, inspire individuals and businesses to reach their goals, and positively impact the world around him. Because he believes that anything worth doing is worth doing well, he always strives to do great work and be a valuable contributor to clients’ success. Outside work, he enjoys cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Sonya Barnhardt

Sonya joined S2SA in January 2021 as a project manager. Before this, she was an account manager with Coca-Cola for almost 10 years, where she perfected her flawless execution of projects and developed a talent for customer relations.

She graduated from the University of Manitoba, majoring in Criminology with a minor in Sociology and is currently working on her COHS. Sonya is passionate about people.  Building and maintaining great customer relationships is her superpower.

When she’s not busy with work, you can find her spending time with Molly, the cutest dog on the planet, or in the kitchen baking/cooking up a storm.

Janice Yu

Janice is the Project Coordinator at S2SA. She has extensive experience in event and program coordination. Her professional accomplishments include successfully planning and executing large-scale events and programs. Janice’s history in the field spans over 10 years, during which she has held positions at various organizations, including non-profits and private companies. She received her Mass Communications degree from The New Era University in the Philippines. Janice is an excellent communicator and problem solver who can thrive in high-stress environments. She values teamwork and collaboration and takes pride in her ability to build relationships with clients and stakeholders. Outside work, Janice enjoys spending time with her family and friends, travelling, and playing golf.

Lee Rosenberg [CRSP, CHSC]

Lee heads-up our Training and Auditing departments and has been working at the Sales and Service Safety Association (S2SA) since 2016. Lee has worked for both Government and private industry prior to S2SA and has been in the health & safety field for over 15 years.

Lee completed the Occupational Health & Safety course at Red River College in 2006, and obtained his CRSP designation in 2015. Lee enjoys training, auditing, and assisting members with their health & safety needs. Lee’s goal is to simplify health & safety for all our members in the sales and service industry.

Lee is a huge Jets and Bomber fan and has thoroughly enjoyed the back-to-back grey cups, he hopes to see a Stanley cup one day.

Kareen Dahlin [CHSC, CRM]

Kareen Dahlin holds the position of Senior Safety Advisor since November 2019. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental and Political Science, Agricultural Diploma, a Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety, and professional designations: Canadian Risk Management (CRM) and Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC). Kareen has over 15 years of experience in health and safety and risk management at various organizational levels and industries including automotive, retail, agriculture, and food manufacturing. 

Key position responsibilities at the Sales and Service Safety Association are leading consulting, member services, and program development along with supervising/mentoring Safety Advisors. The key objective of this role is to serve our members by improving their Safety Management System (SMS). She accomplishes this through conducting SMS phase consulting, member services, gap analysis, SAFE Work Certified Audits, training, advisory services, and member site inspections to identify hazards and provide recommendations on controls. Experienced in developing policies and procedures for multiple locations and holding positions at various organizational levels has given her capabilities in overcoming challenges management, supervisors, workers, and safety committee members face in obtaining buy-in and implementing safety programs. She recognizes safety business integration is the critical link to a successful safety program and is practiced in developing processes, programs, initiatives, and business strategies to integrate safety. She is accomplished in reducing WCB costs through safety policy development, tactical program implementation, and claims management.

Kareen is a leading supporter of SAFE Work Certification with first-hand experience bringing members to certification and has observed the benefits our members receive through certification. She is a great advisor to acquire with a friendly, open demeanor and sense of humor and truly enjoys working with our members. Along with her ability to successfully work with members, innovative problem-solving, and valuable years of safety and business experience back abilities to bring you to SAFE Work Certification or improve your safety program. For SAFE Work Certified members and members with established safety programs, she can continue to advance members’ organizations beyond safety compliance toward safety culture change.

Other professional experiences have included incident management, fleet management, Agriculture laboratory work in canola haploid production and Manitoba-originating species rose cloning, environmental water and species at risk monitoring programs, conducting organizational risk assessments, and developing audits and programs for food safety, product safety, and organizational risk control.

Outside of the office, time is spent at her cabin, where she enjoys reading, hiking, swimming, games, and painting with family. She hopes to soon resume her traveling passion, which has been on hold for the last few years.

Jordan Senderewich [CRST]

Jordan Senderewich is a Safety Advisor with S2SA since August 2020. His background consists of 10+ years of experience in hospitality as an Operations Manager in the food and restaurant industry, where he first learned about health and safety including food safety.

He received his certificate in Health and Safety from Red River College Polytech in 2020 and attained certification as a Certified Registered Safety Technician (CRST) in 2022. He hopes to raise awareness of health and safety and improve safety culture in many workplaces through safety training and shared experiences so that everyone can go home safely at the end of the day.

He values the connections he has made and hopes to continue to network and build strong relationships to continuously learn and educate. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, a variety of sports, and his favorite hockey team is the Vegas Golden Knights!

Katiuska Barrios

Kat comes to S2SA with over 12 years of experience in Integrated Management Systems, including Health and Safety. She has worked in various industries, such as manufacturing, engineering, oil and gas, transportation, and healthcare. 

Kat holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Microbiology and a Postgraduate Degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management. She is an ISO lead auditor who has audited standards including, but not limited to, ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and OSHAS 18001. In 2019, Kat created her own consulting company, through which she led the creation of a Safety Management System from scratch, among other accomplishments. Kat moved to Canada to study Occupational Health and Safety at Red River College, completing the program in Spring 2023.

With the firm intention of positively impacting the Sales and Services Industry in Manitoba, Kat will be focused on facilitating the safety training offered by S2SA and developing the Safe Work Certification process, including audits, gap analysis, and inspections, as required by our members.

Outside work, Kat is a big fan of tennis and baseball and enjoys watching 5-set Grand Slam matches and MLB extra innings games.

Aislyn Balak [CRST]

Aislyn Balak has been a Safety Advisor with S2SA since 2019. Aislyn moved to Winnipeg from Grandview, MB, to attend Red River College Polytechnic, graduating with Environmental Engineering Technology Diploma and Occupational Health and Safety Certificate. She also holds two designations, Canadian Register Safety Technician and Certified Ergonomic Specialist. Coming from a small town, Aislyn tailors the approach to safety for small and large employers throughout Manitoba. She also enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and puppy Sophie.
